The History of Adamas
The history of Adamas begins in 1976 in the Netherlands when the Westland trading company VSK started looking for an alternative to pneumatically chopping concrete. They started importing diamond drills and saws from America and Germany and in 1978 a Belgian manufacturer of diamond tools was purchased called DTW. New product lines of diamond drills and saw blades were then developed at a rapid pace, specifically tailored to the needs of our customers in the Benelux. The market for diamond tools in Europe grew and VSK and DTW grew with it and sales offices were established in various countries. In the mid-1980s, the names VSK and DTW were exchanged for a new name and branding - 'Adamas', the Greek word for diamond. Since then we have known many commercial highs and lows, but our in-house development and production of diamond tools, drill rigs and drilling machines are the basis of our success and expertise to this day.
