Drill bit which simplifies retrieval of the core 16/01/2012

Adamas is strongly focussed on the new slogan High Speed Diamond Solutions’.
Within this in mind Adamas designed a special diamond drill bit which simplifies the retrieval of the  core.

The special drill bits consists of:

A pilot drill Ø20 mm with ½” G connection. The upper part of the pilot drill consists of a solid steel bar with a hinged wedge mounted on it. A lArge drill with 5/4” UNC connection which has an integrated 1/2" G connection to mount the pilot drill
 
This is how it works:

After the drilling through the material, the wedge of the pilot drill will expand (caused by the centrifugal force). This wedge will prevent the core from falling down.
Inside  the larger drill, there are V-shapes grinded. Those will clamp the core within the drill.
